What Is Color Temperature

Color temperature is a physical quantity used in lighting optics to define the color of light source. When a blackbody is heated to a temperature, and the color of the light emitted by it is the same as that emitted by a light source, the temperature of the blackbody is called the color temperature of the light source. Its units are represented by "K".

Low color temperature light yellow, such as incandescent lamps, about 2800K, high color temperature light blue, such as purple light, more than 9000K. It is generally believed that the color temperature of standard white light is 6500K, and the white light emitted by CRT is about 5500K. Therefore, slightly changing the mixing ratio of the three primary colors can simulate the effect of increasing or decreasing the color temperature. The process of changing the photographic, photographic and display equipment based on the principle of color temperature is called color temperature effect.

Some people think that the preference for color temperature depends on people, which is related to our daily view of scenery, for example, near the equator, the daily average color temperature is 11 000 K (8 000 K (dusk) to 17 000 K (noon), so prefer high color temperature (looks more real), on the contrary, in higher latitudes (average) People with a color temperature of about 600K prefer a low color temperature (5600K or 6500K), which means that if you use a high color temperature TV to show the Arctic scenery, it looks green; on the contrary, if you use a low color temperature TV to see the subtropical scenery, you will feel a little red.

The above statement is a common misunderstanding. Normal people of different races and races on the planet feel the same color, and don't think the region or iris is different. The colors will be different. Imagine that there are different races from all over the world in the United States, and if people have different perceptions of the same color, why have you never heard of movies, TV shows, and magazines receiving different kinds of color complaints from different races? This in turn proves that everyone should see the same color. Except for color blindness.
