LED Lighting Should Not Only Consider Color Temperature

Lighting design should not only consider color temperature.
In the design of LED lighting, the spectral energy distribution and color temperature should be considered. The color temperature is based on the absolute temperature K, representing the spectral components of different light sources. The color temperature of blue light falls above 5300 K, belongs to medium and high color temperature, have bright feeling; on the contrary, red light and yellow light belong to warm color light, color temperature below 3300 K, let a person have warm, healthy and relaxing feeling, suitable for household use.


However, under the same color temperature, the spectral distribution will be different because of different viewers and other factors such as climate, environment and so on. So Deborah Burnett, a consultant at Benya Burnett Lighting Design, believes that spectral energy distribution (SED) is the key factor affecting the human eye and body.
